Why the shop exists
Meet Upon The Level started with a problem every Lodge Secretary knows. A Brother is being raised on Tuesday, the Lodge wants to give him something, and the choice is between a catalog piece that looks like it was designed for a bowling league and a jeweler’s ring that costs more than the dues. The shop exists to make dignified, affordable Masonic gifts that a Lodge can order in an evening and have engraved with the Brother’s name and Lodge number. So a Mason built one.
The name is the first thing a Brother hears when he joins and the last thing said at the close of Lodge: we meet upon the level. It was chosen because it is the phrase, not a slogan.
How the pieces are designed
Every piece uses one emblem, the square and compasses, in gold on a near-black field wherever the material allows. There is no letter G on most pieces, no jurisdiction seal, and no Grand Lodge name, because a gift from this shop should be appropriate for a Brother in any jurisdiction and under any constitution. Where a piece names an office, it uses the titles every Lodge uses: Worshipful Master, Past Master, Master Mason.
Glass is laser-engraved into the surface, never printed. Slate and acacia are engraved the same way. Polos, the quarter-zip, the vest and the robe are embroidered in gold thread. Tees and hoodies are printed on heavyweight cotton and cotton-blend fleece. Each listing on Etsy says which, and shows exactly where the emblem sits.
Where things are made
Most pieces are made and shipped in the United States, each one after you order it. Nothing is stock. That is why every listing shows a processing time before you buy, and why a Lodge with an installation date should order early. Etsy handles payment, tracking and any questions after the sale; this site is the catalog, and the Etsy listing is the price of record.
Lodge and bulk orders
A Lodge order is a batch: an officer line at installation, a glass for every Brother at an anniversary dinner, towels for a charity scramble. The shop handles these through one Etsy message. Send the list of names, offices and the Lodge details before you order, and the engraving for every piece is set up together so the layout is the same on each. The Lodge orders guide has a template for the message and a timeline for a dated event.
There is no minimum. A run of six glasses is as welcome as a run of sixty.
What the shop is not
Meet Upon The Level is not affiliated with, licensed by, or endorsed by any Grand Lodge or Masonic body. It does not sell regalia, aprons, jewels or anything that a Lodge issues; those come from your Grand Lodge’s approved suppliers. It does not sell anything that reveals or refers to ritual. The pieces here are gifts, worn and used outside the Lodge room, and they are made for the Brother and his family.

No. Meet Upon The Level is an independent shop run by a Freemason for Brethren and their families. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any Grand Lodge, and every order is placed and paid for through Etsy.
Is the owner a Mason?
Yes. Meet Upon The Level is run by a Freemason, and every piece is designed from the Lodge side of the table. The shop does not name its jurisdiction on the site, so that the pieces stay appropriate for Brethren everywhere.
