The hard questions about a Masonic gift are not about the pieces. They are about the Craft: whether a wife can give a Masonic ring, whether the plaque should say Worshipful Master or Past Master, whether the Lodge can order twelve glasses with twelve different names in one go. They are written by a Mason and kept short. None of them refers to ritual, and none of them names a jurisdiction, because the answers are the same in every Lodge that meets upon the level.

Because the wrong Masonic gift is a small embarrassment that lasts. A Past Master hoodie on a Brother who never sat in the East, a ring that does not fit the little finger, a plaque with the Lodge number wrong: each one is avoidable with a paragraph of explanation, and the shop would rather write the paragraph than replace the piece. The guides carry no listings of their own beyond a few examples; they point to the category pages when a piece is relevant.
