The third degree is the night a Brother becomes a Master Mason, and it is the night Masons remember longest. The gift that fits it is one he keeps: a glass with the date cut into it, a wallet he carries every day, a journal that becomes the place he writes down what he learns. If the Lodge presents something on the night, the festive board afterward is the moment, and a mentor or family may add a piece of their own.

Who gives what
The Lodge. If the Lodge presents a small piece to the newly raised Brother, the engraved whiskey glass and the Master Mason tee both fit, because the cost is modest and it can be ordered as soon as the degree date is set.
The mentor or the Brother who signed his petition. The engraved bifold is the mentor’s piece: it needs no size, and it goes into his pocket the next morning. A ring is the traditional mentor’s gift; the shop does not currently list one, and the ring guide covers hand, finger and size.
Family. For a wife or parent, the personalized glass or the journal, engraved with the year, is a keepsake rather than regalia. Anything on this page is appropriate from family; nothing here requires the giver to be a Mason.
What to avoid
Do not give a Past Master or Worshipful Master piece to a newly raised Brother; those titles are earned by sitting in the East. The Master Mason tee and sweatshirt are the right shirts for him. And leave the engraving to the three lines above: name, Lodge, date. Longer inscriptions crowd a glass. The engraving guide has examples. Most pieces are made and shipped in the United States, and each listing shows its processing time, so order as soon as the degree is scheduled.
Before you order
When should the Lodge order a raising gift?
As soon as the third degree is scheduled. Personalized pieces are made to order, and the processing time on each listing plus shipping should land the parcel a week before the degree. If the date is close, the Master Mason tee and the ready-made pieces ship fastest.
Does the shop sell a Masonic ring?
Not at present. The engraved bifold, the personalized journal and the personalized whiskey glass are the raising gifts that need no size. The ring guide explains hand, finger and sizing for a ring bought elsewhere.
Should the engraving say “Raised” or “Master Mason”?
Either reads correctly. “Raised 14 March 2026” is the more personal line; “Master Mason 2026” is the more formal one. Do not use both.
